Project description

E.ON Next had an EV tariff that could save drivers real money, and too few people knew it existed. Cost is the biggest reason people give for not going electric. Young people already get it: more than half of young drivers want their first car to be electric, and 56% say switching saves money. It's their parents who need convincing.

So instead of lecturing adults, we let their kids do it.

So instead of lecturing adults, my copywriting partner and I let their kids do it. A Night at the Car Museum is our take on Night at the Museum, starring Munya Chawawa and a class of schoolchildren, with one job: land 'Save £££s while catching ZZZs'. Munya, E.ON Next's self-appointed Director of Household Energy Optimisation and Efficiency, hosts a school sleepover in a car museum and tries to teach the kids how overnight charging works. Plug in, set the app, go to sleep.

AI ran alongside the production. At pitch stage I used GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana 2.1 to visualise each concept, so senior stakeholders chose between ideas they could see rather than imagine. Sign-off came faster. Once the idea was approved, I mocked up the set's centrepiece, a charging stand beside the Mini Cooper EV, and checked its scale against Munya so it sat at the right height for him. The production house built it from those mockups. They started from a picture, not a paragraph.

I made the storyboards with a mix of AI and Photoshop, and the production company directing the film used them as the shared reference for the whole crew. With script and boards locked four days before the shoot, the spare time went into the props and the jokes. My copywriting partner and I were on set throughout.

The shoot fed a four-minute YouTube hero film, 10-second product ads and cutdowns for Meta, YouTube Shorts, TikTok and LinkedIn. Results to follow.
